Jesse’s Breast Lift and Augmentation Experience with Bad Moms Official Go-To Mommy Makeover Partner, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Craig Baldenhofer

My Breast Lift and Augmentation journey with Dr. Craig Baldenhofer.

Like many women, one day I woke up and realized “the girls” weren’t quite where I remembered them. As a woman with naturally large breasts, (I have been a 34DDD since I was 11) and breastfeeding a baby, gravity had won a war I didn’t even know I was fighting.

A breast lift was not something I had considered, especially not at 30. I feel like whenever the topic of any kind of Mommy Makeover procedure came up, it was always followed with “wait until you are done with kids or you will ruin the results.” I felt like why should I wait to be happy with my body? What if I never have more children and I wasted years!!!! In my situation, I was a 30 year old single mom to a 2 year old girl with more great boob years to enjoy!! More children wasn't on the radar!!!

I went to Dr. B for a consultation and I was a candidate for a lift. We decided to do a Breast Lift first, let it heal, and then decide if I wanted an augmentation. Dr. B explained that with the substantial lift I needed it was best to stage the procedures. We planned to decide at my 6 month post op appointment whether or not to move forward with the Augmentation. Dr B’s concern was safety and healing as a priority!!!

During our consultation he explained exactly what would happen during theprocedure, I like many women was very concerned about scaring and recovery. Dr B went over how to care for the incisions during recovery and guided me on the do’s & don’t to ensure the best possible outcome.

Preparation was key! My procedure was on a Wednesday and I made sure I cleaned the house, stocked up on the heavier bulk household items like water, detergent, and I went grocery shopping. I did all the laundry and made arrangements for family to watch my daughter until the evening the day of the surgery

. Here are some of the things I ordered to make recovery comfortable!

  • U shaped body pillow - I SLEPT WITH THIS FOR 6 WEEKS!!!! As a side sleeper I was dreading trying to sleep on my back, but this was great. I loved it!!!!

  • 3 front closure compression sports bra from Amazon for $20 or less! No need for a fancy bra, just comfortable!!!

  • Spray sunscreen to remove the surgical markings (you’re welcome)

  • Topical and Oral Arnica for bruising and inflammation.

  • Scilicone Surgical Tape - don’t buy the pre cut strips!!! Go on Amazon and find the squares with the perforated edges the roll should be around $16. Take one square at a time and cut it into 3 custom strips. The incions are thin there’s no reason to waste so many squares. Pro tip cut a hole in one square and put your nipple through it so your areola is covered!!!!!

  • Lose fitting zip up sweater.

  • Extra Strength Tylenol.

My procedure was early in the morning, I was nervous and excited…mostly nervous but that’s normal. As soon as I saw Dr B I was at ease. I has my procedure in the Huntington location surgical suite. It is so nice! Anyway, my procedure was about 2 hours, everything went well, I woke up in recovery feeling surprisingly well. A little groggy from anesthesia. I was prescribed pain medication as needed. Once I got home I just took it easy - relaxed, watched TV and laid down. My daughter came home, went to bed and so did I.

Can you believe I felt so great I went to work THE NEXT DAY?!? Full disclosure I don’t do any heavy lifting but I felt great. I took extra strength tyelonol during the day and one pain killer at night to cut the edge off the aching before bed. Had I known recovery would be such a breeze I wouldn have done this sooner! I did have to avoid heavy lifting, but my ability to care for my toddler was not affected at all!!!!!! If you are worried about recovery - don’t be!!!

Fast forward 6 months…..

As much as I LOVEDDDDDD my new perky appearance, I did miss that upper pole fullness I naturally had. After the Lift I was 34D/DD depending on the bra. So I still had larger breasts but they weren’t as round on top. Dr.B showed me some options, did a few measurements and we decided on high profile silicone implants (gummies) and somewhere around 450-550 cc depending on how things were looking when we were in surgery. I fully trust Dr Baldenhofer’s judgment so I said do whatever you think looks best!!!! I ended up with 500cc and they fit me perfectly!

I will be 100% honest - the recovery for the Augmentation was more uncomfortable for me than the lift. I woke up with tightness in my chest and I felt a limitation in my range of motion. The 2 days post surgery were uncomfortable, but after that I felt fine. I avoided heavy lifting longer than when I had a lift, but nothing extreme. The U Shaped pillow mentioned above came in CLUTCH!

At first my boobs were so high - I felt like I looked like a femme bott. It looked too “fake to me”. After about 4-6 weeks they dropped and fluffed and I had that natural look and feel! I am 2.5 years post Breast Lift and 2 years post Breast Augmentation and I couldn’t be happier with my results!

I am glad that we staged the surgeries. I feel like it gave me the opportunity to decide wether or not I really wanted to also have and Augmentation and it made for a seamless recovery! (I did do Lipo 360 and loose weight in between the before and afters!!!!)

I can’t recommend Dr. Craig Baldenhofer and his team enough!!!! For more information, check out his profile under the “Partnership” tab and his Instagram for more patient before and afters!!!
